Troy W.Green

For more than 40 years Mr. Green has trained and coached hundreds of karate, kickboxing, mma, and muay thai fighters. His fighters have won dozens of state, promotions, regional, national, and world titles. He is also known for his lightning-fast hands and his expertise in street combat situations.

Having retired from full-time teaching in 2022, he is still doing seminars mentoring many former students who now have teams of their own and have become coaches themselves. He is currently in grad school at OU studying Criminal Justice and is working on a book about his life.

Raised by the streets of southern Oklahoma and the foster care system. He grew up knowing hardship, hunger, and what it feels like to be overlooked. Those struggles built resilience and gave him a determination to prove that no matter where you start, you can rise above it. Then, at the age of 17. Troy W. Green found a home and family in the world of martial arts. For most of his adult life he has used his ability to teach and motivate others to help every young and old person that comes to him achieve personal betterment. To him, the traditions and tough lessons of martial arts and life itself is never ending and therefore a way of life. Martial arts gave him discipline and purpose.

Mr. Green performed over 100 hours of community service tutoring 3rd graders in math and reading as a requirement for his first black belt. Having been forced to drop out of high school due to homelessness, this gave him purpose and lit the fire that drove him to open Geen Family Martial Arts in 1992. He used his school to work closely with DHS and for over 30 years his school was a safe haven for at-risk youth, abuse survivors, and anyone in need of a second chance.

Mr. Green has also served his community in law enforcement, security, and investigations, always standing on the side of justice and safety. He has built multiple businesses from the ground up because he believes in creating opportunities, not waiting for them. He has accomplish this with patience and hard work having never taken a bank or personal loan.

In 2018 Mr. Green founded the Five Tenets Youth Foundation in an effort to expand his programs to more young people while also offering free tutoring, job search training, and GED prep assistance.

In 2020 at the age of 53 Mr. Green began college and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the spring of 2025 with a degree in History and a minor in English. “Education changed my life. In 2025 Mr. Green founded Safe Haven Oklahoma, where he is using the experience, he gained in years of law enforcement and security to fight human trafficking and child exploitation, confronting the darkest threats facing our children and families.”

He has spent his entire life fighting from the bottom, giving back, and building others up. Now in graduate school and The University of Oklahoma’s Criminal Justice program Mr. Green continues to build on a lifetime of service, discipline, and education. His journey reflects more than personal triumph—it demonstrates the power of perseverance, mentorship, and community. From the boy who once faced hunger and uncertainty to the man who has dedicated his life to lifting others up, Troy W. Street Combat System

After spending more than 40 years in the arts, law enforcement, and executive protection studying the effectiveness of techniques in real life situations many times from his own altercations. Master Troy W. Green spent 5 years developing a system that deals directly with the bare bones of effective street defense. No one technique works for everyone therefore this system offers a variety of techniques to end the fight in whatever way works best for you or best suites the situation legally and effectively.

This is a blended system that combines Karate, Kenpo, & Jiu-jitsu for real world street combat that works for everyone not just the big and the strong. This is an advanced system that teaches very specific and detailed techniques. Great program for those with the patience to not only learn but understand the science of combat and why things work the way they do. This class is open for teens and adults of all ages. Perfect for those with a background in martial arts that want to expand their knowledge and understanding of combat situations
